Code of Conduct
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE GUESTS.
The relationship between Hosts and guests is founded on courtesy and friendship.
Let's not forget that we are visiting by invitation and not as a customer
being charged for a service. It is important to respect
the privacy and professional work of those who are hosting us.
Please make sure that you
present yourselves with your RV full of fresh water and with
empty grey and black water tanks so that you can be fully
independent during your stay. By doing so, you will avoid asking
your Hosts for services that they are not able to offer, remember
these are
farms not camping sites. By acting respectfully, we will be able to
continue enjoying the tranquility and
beauty of the countryside for free.
Here are some simple guidelines that RV
members of Harvest Hosts agree to for all visits:
- Always be a courteous guest.
- Be sure to call ahead to confirm that space
is available at the Host.
- Let your Host know when you arrive or depart : a simple
“Hello” and “Goodbye, see you soon” are always appreciated.
- On arrival at the site, show the Host your membership card
and sticker for the current year. Hosts will only allow
currently identified members of Harvest
Hosts to park overnight on their property.
Arrive at the site during business
hours. Some sites may have gates that will be closed after
hours.
- To avoid inconveniencing the work of your host, please park
only in the areas indicated by them.
- Use any available facilities with moderation (toilets etc.)
and only if invited to. Please take all trash with you.
- Before arriving, ensure your fresh water tank is full and all waste tanks are empty.
Please do not empty your gray water on your Host's property.
- Never light fires or BBQs.
- No awnings please.
- If you have small children remember the sites are working
vineyards or farms. Please take
care.
- If a pet is accompanying you, ask permission
from your Host before letting them out on a leash and always
pick up after them. Farm dogs may be present.
- Avoid making too much noise (shouting or barking animals…).
- Alway ask before using your generator.
- Out of respect for your Hosts, please use the
Host Directory only during its period of validity (annual
renewal).
- Remember that these sites are not campgrounds,
do not expect facilities as provided by a campsite.
- Please do not stay longer than 24 hours.
Follow these guidelines, and you'll have a
wonderful experience learning about your Host's work and products.
VERY IMPORTANT
- Your Hosts are growers, producers or farmers and are
inviting you to visit on a friendly basis.
- As a guest, accept that occasionally a Host
may not be able to receive you for personal reasons. It may be
possible to find an alternative farm or vineyard not far away.
- We recommend that you call ahead.
- Parking spots are chosen for easy
access, but also to allow your Hosts to
continue working normally.
- Common sense and courtesy are important. Please accept any
restrictions imposed. Harvest Hosts property owners are not
providing the services of a campsite.
