What People Are Saying About Harvest Hosts!

Harvest Hosts in the news!  Here's a link to articles written about us.

Just a quick note to thank you for introducing this exciting concept in the U.S. Although we have been full-timers for over five years, boondocking is one of those things we never do (probably because of a bad experience one night at a truck stop - have never done it again!). However, as lovers of wine, and frequent visitors to wineries as we travel - this is a boondocking concept we can buy into (and literally, I'm sure - we WILL buy wine at these locations, since we can afford to, if not paying for a camp site as we travel through!:)Thanks again - we're looking forward to many new experiences! Rosemary and Greg P.

We saw the article in one of the RV magazines about (Harvest Hosts). I can't think of anything better than not having to drive away from a good vineyard. A great idea. We wish you success.  Bill and Elaine

We are recent members of Harvest Hosts, and are currently on a road trip from California to Montreal, Canada. Along the way we visited R…Vineyard and its owner R. We tasted the wines at the tasting room and they were excellent. Being from wine country in California, we were not expecting much from a vineyard in the frozen north, so were very surprised at the quality of the wine. R was a very gracious host and gave us an interesting education on the developing wine industry in ND. We had a pleasant dinner together in town, and spent a peaceful night at the vineyard amid the sounds of the birds in the vineyard. We would heartily recommend to your members a visit to R… Vineyard if they are passing through ND. Steve & Karla C.

We had a wonderful stay at the L… Vineyard in OR. It is located in the beautiful valley, surrounded by fabulous mountains. M was a wonderful host. Parasailers launch off one of the mountains nearby and land in his field almost every afternoon.  I've attached the pictures we took while we were there.  Sandie D.

We have been members of Harvest Host since June 2010, and have stayed at several different wineries and one fruit stand in Washington State. All of our experiences have been positive, with the hosts universally welcoming and accomodating. In most cases, we were the first Harvest Host member to stay with the host, and had to explain what actually constitutes an adequate spot for a 37-foot motorhome with a toad to park – the concept of level and able to suppport our weight was new to some hosts, but they all have been able to find an appropriate spot for us. We’ve enjoyed the peace and quiet of a summer night on a hillside above Benton City, watching the mooon and Venus set over Mt. Adams, helping bottle 260 cases of Merlot at R W C, and meeting local folks who know lots about the history of the place we are staying. Of course, it usually ends up costing us more than we’d pay for an RV park by the time we buy a bottle or two of wine!  Barbara P.

Don and Kim,  Charlie and I are sitting outside enjoying the vineyard view and their great background music at Windward Vineyard in Paso Robles CA. 70 degree temps and it doesn't get much better than this! Glad we joined HH! This is our first time to stop at a HH site. Marti & Charlie

Thank you so much for this wonderful service you've provided.I downloaded the Host Directory last night and can hardly wait to visit some of these places. We are full time RVers and will certainly use your directory to find those wonderful out of the way places that we enjoy visiting. Again, thanks so much for putting this directory together. We plan to use it a whole bunch. Dan and Gail B.

If this was your brainchild; it was a good one!! Having grown up in the country in eastern Washington, I am never happier than when I am out amidst the farms, and fields, and orchards. I can't wait to take advantage of this opportunity. Thank you. Helen K

Don, I like this idea a lot and I am prepared to assist in spreading the word within my group as well as beyond. Jim S.

I just joined and am very excited! I am new to RVing and learned through RVing Women. Anyway thanks, great idea, and I will be blogging as I start to experience these stays and get more active on the blog--many RVing women are not yet internet/email saavy (http://glrvw.wordpress.com/). Karen V.

Great concept and logo! Can't think of nicer places to overnight. I'll definitely let the RVing Women know about it. I look forward to enjoying some of your Host sites on my travels. Thanks. Barbara M.

Your web site was just forwarded to us by friends. We are not "RV Park" type of people when travelling, and your idea is simply fantastic. We are stuck workamping until fall of 2010, but when we head for Mexico in November, we will sign up for a membership. In the meantime, I shall advertise your site on our blog.Kevin, Ruth, and Whiskey, www.travelwithkevinandruth.com.

We had the opportunity to visit both properties you forwarded. I look forward to exploring some of the other facilities you have arrangements with in the Central to Southern California Area (weekend getaways are all time allows right now). Thanks again and I’ll be posting my experiences on the Airstream Forum soon. John C.

We had a great time at the T… Vineyard. The access was easy, we drove right to it as if we knew where we were going. David was very excited that we came to stay the night. Thanks again.

Someone on my Lazy Daze RV Yahoo group shared your info and I know a lot of folks, particularly on the West coast, signed up. Just wanted to let you know that I’m thrilled you are starting this in the U.S. Honestly, Motorhome Magazine should do a feature on you. Tessa H.

Had it not been for Harvest Hosts we never would have known about the fine people and wines of Nebraska. They were our first stop with the program and we were their first RV to be here. How great is this! Jan & Mike

We finally stayed in one – (a) great place. We stayed at P… Lavender Farm. The hosts were great and our parking spot worked out well. Attached is a picture of our motorhome at the lavender farm. Brian & Sue R.

We have ... been to one Harvest Host, but it was one of the best evenings of our lives! We met another couple and spent a wonderful evening under a full moon overlooking the vineyards. Janice & Tim F
