From CMO to Campground Mode: Our First Stop with Campground Partners
When I semi-retired from my role as Chief Marketing Officer at Harvest Hosts, I did what any rational person would do—I bought an RV and hit the road. My new mission? Advocate for the lifestyle I’ve been promoting for years, now as a full-fledged traveling member of the Harvest Hosts family. And of course, put all those beautiful partnerships we’ve built to the test.
Our very first trip in the new rig was a mix of excitement and “where-the-heck-do-we-go-now?” Thankfully, the Harvest Hosts app had our backs. I toggled on the new Campground Partners layer and—bam—Virginia lit up like a Christmas tree. One spot jumped out immediately: Jellystone Park in Luray. Great location, awesome amenities, and super close to the famous caverns. Booking was a breeze, and we used the member discount to save a nice chunk of change.
Check-in was effortless. We picked up firewood from a fully stocked camp store (seriously, it had everything), and parked at the end of a row with a killer view of the mountains and the playground. Between the paddle boats, fishing pond, bike trails, arcade, and TWO giant bouncing pillows, the kids were blissfully entertained while I looked like a tournament winner along the banks of the stocked fishing pond. Bonus: we caught so many bass my son got tired of reeling them in, and we let some of the other kids experience the joys of fishing!
