Many think of Wisconsin only for their beer and dairy production. However, as a home to tens of thousands of state parks and hundreds of thousands of national forests, this state can be an ultimate RVing destination. The state of Wisconsin borders two Great Lakes, Lake Superior and Lake Michigan, which feature miles of beautiful, sandy beaches. Wisconsin is also home to dozens of Harvest Hosts locations, which include ample farms and breweries, along with tons of other hidden gems to spruce up your vacation. Summer is primarily the best time to visit Wisconsin, and who doesn’t love a good summer road trip? However, the state is too large and diverse to cover in just one article. 1. Potosi Brewing Co. & National Brewery Museum - Potosi, WI

Naturally, our first stop in Wisconsin is a brewery. Many know Potosi as “Beer’s Hometown,” and this brewery strives to keep that persona alive. Potosi Brewing Co was established in 1852 and eventually became the fifth largest brewery in the state. Today they’re home to the brewery, a museum, a pub, a beer garden, and more. With the establishment of the Potosi Foundation, all profits are donated to help the local community. Currently, they offer four pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size.

2. Lake Geneva - WI

The city of Lake Geneva perfectly cups Geneva Lake and has a resort-style feel to it. The town itself is dotted with hotels, resorts, B&Bs, and campgrounds. Visitors and locals alike enjoy walking on the Geneva Lake Shore Path, and you may even get to see a hot air balloon tour travel over the lake. The nearby Big Foot Beach State Park offers day recreation opportunities and several RV campgrounds to choose from. 

3. Studio Winery - Lake Geneva, WI

While in the Lake Geneva area, be sure to check out Studio Winery for your night’s stay. Owners Doug and Kathy Jackson have created a music studio, an art studio, and a wine and spirit studio all under one roof. Doug is the distiller and winemaker, producing a variety of wine and spirits to suit any tastes. Kathy is a painter and glass artist and designs all the product labels. Currently, they offer three pet-friendly spaces for RVs under twenty-nine feet in length, and they also offer a 15-amp connection. 

4. Madison, Wisconsin

While in southern Wisconsin why not visit the capitol? The capitol building itself is nestled on the Madison Isthmus between two of the area’s five lakes. In total, the five lakes cover more than 15,000 acres, making this a prime location for water activities. Madison is the bike capital of the Midwest, so naturally they’ve constructed over 200 miles of paved biking trails here. Visitors come from all over to attend annual events such as the Great Taste of the Midwest, Craft Beer Week, Isthmus Beer & Cheese Festival, and more! Located not too far from Madison is the Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark, which is worth visiting as well.

6. Summit Strength and Fitness - Madison, WI

This unique Harvest Hosts stop is perfect for those missing their local gym on the road, or those wanting to try out rock climbing. Summit offers over 3,000 square feet of climbing wall space with varying degrees of difficulty, as well as a variety of classes focusing on strength, climbing fitness and technique. They also have regular weights and other machines available as well. Here, they pride themselves in the community atmosphere, shich includes grilling out together on Tuesday nights after a strength class, climbing with everyone, projecting movies in the summer out back, and more. Everyone is welcome, and they currently offer two pet-friendly spaces for RVs under thirty-five feet in length.

7. Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin and was once known as the Beer Capital of the World. The city itself is located right on Lake Michigan, giving visitors access to many beautiful beaches. Because of all of the events they host, many people call Milwaukee the "City of Festivals." Summerfest is the world's largest music festival and attracts hundreds of thousands of people, allowing them to listen to and enjoy some top-rated bands and artists. Milwaukee also hosts numerous cultural and other assorted festivals throughout the year. 

8. Bounce Milwaukee - Milwaukee, WI

Anyone traveling with kids (or those adults who want to let loose!) will definitely want to put this stop on their list! Bounce offers tons of activities like bounce houses, inflatable sports arenas, laser tag, axe throwing, rock climbing, and more. There’s no need to leave the facility since they offer a variety of foods, drinks, and a bar menu. Anyone partaking in the fun will be ready for that restful overnight sleep in one of their four spacious RV spots. 

9. Taliesin and House on the Rock - Spring Green, WI

It’s not often that there are two architectural attractions within ten minutes of each other. Taliesin was lived in and designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 1900’s. The property has become a 700-acre national landmark encompassing six of Wright’s structures. House on the Rock began construction in 1945 when Alex Jordan wanted to build an awe-inspiring retreat. The house is broken up into a total of three sections or exhibits, with each room containing unique themes.

10. Nordic Creamery - Westby, WI

You can’t visit Wisconsin without taking home some cheese! Nordic Creamery is a fourth generation farm that began in 1917. They produce a variety of award-winning cow and goat dairy products, such as butter and cheese. Did you know that the ice cream sundae was invented in Wisconsin in 1881? Be sure to pick up some ice cream while you’re here. They currently offer six pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size. Wisconsin can be an amazing addition to stop in on your road trip, or a perfect trip destination.
