Big Sky Bison Ranch is a family operated grass fed, grass finished regeneratively managed bison ranch. Located 15 miles west of Great Falls, MT nestled in a broad river valley, we have 2.4 miles of the beautiful Muddy Creek that winds through the ranch. We humanely produce America's favorite and most healthy protein, grassfed bison. We process and use every part of our bison and sell bison meat, skulls, hides, leather, logo merchandise, and gifts from our ranch store and online. We hope you come by and visit with us, tour the ranch and pick up some delicious bison meat. For those who cannot make it to the ranch, we do ship and deliver as well. If you are looking for a gated, quiet, safe, peaceful place to spend the night with views of our bison, deer and antelope in the hills, and river bottoms we think you will enjoy our ranch as much as we do. For bird lovers we have multitudes of native and migratory bird species to observe, don't be surprised to hear a chorus of sandhill cranes, western meadowlarks, and wild ducks, geese and pheasants croaking at sunrise. We have worked very hard to turn what was once a worn-down homesteaded prairie cattle ranch into regeneratively restored oasis in the prairie. Our bison herd roams on the same land their ancestors and their Native American hunters did for thousands of years. Our mission is to produce bison as naturally as possible, and to provide amazing bison meat and products to our customers at a fair price.

Please be aware that our Ranch Entry gates lock from 6pm to 8am daily, there is no access through our entry gates during these hours aside from emergencies.

This is a working bison ranch, guests will be travelling through active bison pastures. The ranch gates are locked every night at 6pm and unlocked at 8am, please plan ahead. If you plan/need to leave the ranch or go into town for dinner and need to travel through our gates after 6pm or before 8am please find another location to stay that better suits your schedule. We have a huge parking area that can accommodate even the largest RV’s and their trailers. Parking will be assigned based upon ground conditions, bison location and RV size. Available parking will range from grassy riverside parking for small vehicles, to level gravel barn yard, or grass pasture parking for large RV's. Guests are expected to park and recreate only in areas designated by the ranch caretaker.

As a working bison ranch we take our property security seriously. There is no access through entry gates after 6pm and before 8am without prior arrangement. Ranch gates are locked every day at 6 pm and unlocked at 8 am. If you need to depart earlier please discuss with Caleb our ranch caretaker. We allow our bison to roam free in their pastures and behave like wild bison, our bison are not tame and can behave aggressively, especially during the rut. Pets must always be on a leash outside of the farm yard, please only recreate in designated areas. Never approach a bison or enter into the pasture they are in. No loud music, barking dogs, or open fires in summer (fire risk area) are permitted. River access and camp sites may be permitted in designated areas if bison are not using the pasture

Big Sky Bison Ranch has a small Farm Store where we stock and sell Big Sky Bison grass-fed meat, ranch merchandise, hides, bison skulls, and gifts.
