We purchased this old farm a little over 7 years ago with the dream of fixing it up, and it’s been a slow but steady work in progress. It’s the first home I’ve ever owned, and I’m grateful to call it ours. I was born and raised in Arkansas, moved between Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, and Washington State, and finally came to New York in 2011. Our home is lively — we share it with two dogs, a cat, and a snake. Beamer, our Akita/Pit mix, loves people and kids. He may look intimidating at first, but he’s all excitement and play. We know our neighbors well, help each other when needed, and enjoy the sense of community here. The property is nearly 3 acres of open green yard, with a two-story white farmhouse, a barn we’re restoring, and beautiful sunrises year-round. The I-90 highway runs directly behind the house, giving quick access for your travels (with some road noise). We’re located on Route 249 (Brant Farnham Rd), a major route that leads right to our driveway, and we’re just 15 minutes from Silver Creek with its Sunset Bay beach, bars, restaurants, and summer events. Gas, food, and shopping are all close by, making this a convenient and peaceful stop.
