Sweet Smoked Granola Caramel Apples: RV Camping Recipes

Sweet Smoked Granola Caramel Apples—tender smoked apples filled with a crispy granola mix, baked to perfection and served with a luscious caramel sauce. Ideal with ice cream for extra indulgence!
Ingredients:
- 2 large apples
- 1 C your favorite granola
- 1/4 C sugar
- 1 TBL cinnamon
- 1/4 C flour
- 1/4 C softened butter
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 C water
Instructions:
- Preheat smoker (or oven) to 375 degrees F
- Grease cookie sheet
- Start to prep apples by slicing off the tops
- Use a melon-baller or spoon to hollow out the insides (be sure to remove all seeds)
- Place apple “bowls” on the greased cookie sheet
- In a medium bowl stir together the granola, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and butter until evenly combined
- Fill apple bowls with the granola mixture
- In a small bowl mix water with cornstarch until smooth (called a slurry)
- Pour cornstarch slurry around the base of the apples in the pan
- Place pan in smoker (or oven) and bake for 20-30 minutes or until apples are tender, granola is crisp, and caramel sauce has formed around apples
- Serve warm drizzled with caramel sauce from the pan. Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream for added deliciousness. Yuuuuuummmmm!!
