Sweet Smoked Granola Caramel Apples—tender smoked apples filled with a crispy granola mix, baked to perfection and served with a luscious caramel sauce. Ideal with ice cream for extra indulgence!

Sweet Smoked Granola Caramel Apples

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 C your favorite granola
  • 1/4 C sugar
  • 1 TBL cinnamon
  • 1/4 C flour
  • 1/4 C softened butter
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 C water

  1.  Preheat smoker (or oven) to 375 degrees F
  2. Grease cookie sheet
  3.  Start to prep apples by slicing off the tops
  4. Use a melon-baller or spoon to hollow out the insides (be sure to remove all seeds)
  5. Place apple “bowls” on the greased cookie sheet
  6. In a medium bowl stir together the granola, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and butter until evenly combined
  7.  Fill apple bowls with the granola mixture
  8.  In a small bowl mix water with cornstarch until smooth (called a slurry)
  9.  Pour cornstarch slurry around the base of the apples in the pan
  10. Place pan in smoker (or oven) and bake for 20-30 minutes or until apples are tender, granola is crisp, and caramel sauce has formed around apples
  11.  Serve warm drizzled with caramel sauce from the pan.  Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream for added deliciousness.  Yuuuuuummmmm!!
