About
Located in the rural neighborhood of Picture Rocks 20 minutes from I-10 in northwest Tucson, this private 5-acre desert property is just a short walk into Saguaro National Park. Please let me know of your ETA the morning of your arrival. Rigs weighing over 12,000 pounds cannot come through the park on Picture Rocks Road because of a weight restrictions, so please contact me ahead of time for alternate directions. You'll be on pavement except for the last 1/4 mile which is dirt and may be bumpy. There are only two gas stations, a dive-bar, a dollar store, and a feed store out here. so most folks get their provisions at Fry's supermarket on N. Silverbell Road or Walmart on Cortaro Road before arriving. There are no RV hookups although there is a hose and regular house outlets for a small fee. There aren't any streetlights out here, so it's best to arrive before dark. Check-in is after 1 PM, and check-out is before 11 AM. I only offer two campsites, so you'll have lots of privacy and yet only be 10 miles from the I-10 freeway. There's room for slideouts, outdoor cooking, and an area to relax with chairs and tables. I accept Venmo and Zelle as well as cash. You’ll enjoy hiking, bicycling, stargazing, and watching magnificent sunsets and sunrises from here. We are IN the desert, complete with coyote serenades, dark skies for stargazing, and cactus everywhere! We are out near the famous Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Old Tucson, and Saguaro National Park's Visitor Center. I offer a one hour beginner riding lesson for $50 on my horse Mosaic. She requires extra supplements for a health condition, so I definitely appreciate donations towards her care. If two or more want to do a trail ride, I can make arrangements with a nearby stable for you with at least one day's notice. As a retired teacher who’s lived in Tucson for more than 40 years, guests thoroughly enjoy my two-hour tour of petroglyphs (both in and outside the park) and learning about the flora and fauna of our unique environment. I also have some Native American jewelry and other southwestern items for sale. On the morning of your arrival, please give me an ETA and let me know if your rig weighs over 12,000 pounds because you will need alternative directions due to weight restrictions driving though the park. If you have any questions at all, please message me through Harvest Host. You can check out my website at ChinaCabinetRanch.com for more photos, reviews, and information. Laura
