The PUPStop in Baker, Florida is the quirky and colorful home of Saving with Soul Pet Rescue, the largest working dog rescue in Northwest Florida. We are located one hour north of Florida's Emerald Coast and home to nearly 100 rescue dogs available for adoption. Spend the night beneath the mature magnolia trees of Magnolia Grove along Highway 189. You will have front-row seats to Northwest Florida's beautiful cotton fields and, if you're lucky, you'll be here when they're in full bloom. During Your Stay, You May Encounter... • Chihuahuas with opinions (and Olympic-level side-eye) • Puppies with no respect for personal space • Dogs announcing that dinner is approximately twelve seconds late • Staff and volunteers who make you feel like you've been friends forever • A newly rescued dog who doesn’t even have a name yet (and yes, we'll happily consider your suggestions... unless it's Luna, Bella or Max.) • Happy tears when one of our long-timers finally goes home. What was planned as a quick overnight stop often turns into hours spent wandering the property, meeting adoptable dogs and wondering why you're suddenly rooting for a ten-pound Chihuahua named Kevin. That happens here. Every day. The PUPStop is the heart and soul of Saving with Soul Pet Rescue. Since 2012, we've saved more than 20,000 homeless dogs and cats. On any given day, nearly 100 rescue dogs call the PUPStop home while they wait for families of their own. And of course, Northwest Florida has a beauty all its own - towering oaks, magnificent magnolias, sprawling pecan trees, cotton fields and endless blue skies. What to do while you're here? Wander through our Adoption Village and meet our adoptable dogs, visit the Rainbow Bridge, browse the donation-based PUPShop, take pictures, ask questions and learn more about how real dog rescue operates. If you're traveling with your own four-legged companion, you're welcome to enjoy one of our shaded, fenced guest exercise yards - a great place to stretch their legs after a day on the road. We are not fancy. We are not polished. But we are real. And we think this is a pretty special place to spend the night.
