Come visit a dream in the making. Our 15 acre land will eventually host 5 vintage campers all ready to take you back in time to an era of nostalgia. While the campers are currently awaiting restoration around the property, they are kept company by a breed-up Valais Blacknose Sheep herd. The Valais Blacknose Sheep are from the mountainous region of Switzerland and have only recently come to the US in the last 10 years, with the first purebred sheep stepping foot on American soil in the spring of 2021. Come meet these friendly sheep who sometimes think they are dogs instead of Sheep! They have been labeled the “World’s Cutest Sheep.” And we couldn’t agree more! Along with sheep, we also have miniature dwarf Nigerian goats, chickens, cats, and dogs. As far as things to do, here at Lazy R Acres there are trails through the woods to enjoy a peaceful walk where flowers of some sort always seem to be in bloom or you are welcome to sit and enjoy the scenery. Locally, we are not too far from Galena or Lake Geneva. If car racing is your thing, there is literally a racetrack right next door which does add a little engine noise but it is not intrusive. We have found this environment to induce a restful spirit; a place that just makes us take a deep breath and appreciate our beautiful surroundings. As our vintage campers are not ready for their debut, we only have a little shop of available products. We are working with local artisans to offer quality handmade goods. We are also in the process of learning the use of our own sheep’s wool and will offer those products as they become available.
