Welcome to Sheldon Stopover! Location: 455 N. Ninth St., Sheldon, IL (Right off US-24) Space: 3/4-acre level lot with a 75-foot driveway, ideal for RVs and campers. After a long day on the road, having a simple, safe place to pull over, rest, and reset is huge. We are proud to offer a quiet spot for travelers to catch their breath. What to Expect The Layout: You'll be parked on a 75-foot driveway on a clearly defined 3/4-acre lot. Boundaries: North: A large 6-foot privacy fence belonging to the neighbors. (Note: They have three friendly but vocal pit bulls who will let you know when they're outside!) East & South: Open cornfields and a neighboring lot. West: The open yard. Utilities & Hookups: Power: 15, 30, and 50 amp hookups are available for $10/day. The RV box is located right next to the power meter on the house. Water & Sewer: There is no water hookup or sewer dump directly on-site. However, if I am in town and not working, you are more than welcome to stop by my house—just one house away on an adjacent block—to fill up with water at no charge. House Rules & Amenities Trash: A trash can is located next to the house for your convenience. Please bag your trash and toss it in—we take care of the disposal. (Trash day is Friday!) Pets: Pets are very welcome! Please pick up after your dogs to keep the property clean for everyone. Pets must be on a leash or tie out, there is golf cart and walking traffic we must respect. Community & Future Plans: This property has deep roots for us. It belonged to a dear friend who passed away, and my neighbor and I purchased it from his sons to keep it in the family and honor his memory. Eventually, we plan to turn this into an affordable home for a family in need. Until then, we love sharing it with travelers and being part of the wider community.
