About
We have 23 acres of open grassy areas and forest which have a few trails cut in to walk through. Guests are welcome to make their selves at home, enjoy the deck and firepit areas or just walking around.
We are located within 20 minutes of the IU campus in Bloomington and 6 miles from Nashville in beautiful Brown County and within an hour from downtown Indy. Close to state and national forests (McCormick's Creek, Yellowood, Morgan Monroe and Brown County). Enjoy the local artisans and small businesses while shopping in the quaint town of Nashville and local eateries. Close as well is the Hard Truth distillery with restaurant and outdoor venue and musical venues such as Brown Co. Music Center and Bill Monroe's Music Park.
We have a few sites that have electric(30amp or 50amp) and water and will allow sewer hookup (if available). For those amenities, we ask for a donation.
We can also offer laundry facilities and shower facilities if needed (upon request).
Otherwise, boondocking is welcome in the grassy areas.
We are close to Monroe Lake, Lemon Lake and Yellowood Lake. The larger is Monroe and has parks, swimming, boating and fishing areas, etc. for you to enjoy. Yellowood is great for canoe/kayak. Lemon can be accessed via Riddle Park (fee ent and boat launch).
***If coming from the east please note directions below to avoid being taken on narrow back roads ***
I-65 is about 45min away (Columbus exit) and I-69 about 15min (exit 123 in Bloomington).
To avoid being taken on "shorter" routes by your guidance system if coming from the east, from Columbus off I-65, take SR 46 to SR 135. Take SR 135 to SR45. The SR 45 / SR 135 intersection is just north of the Nashville area. DO NOT TURN AT LIGHT IN NASHVILLE ON MAIN St. It's drivable, just very narrow and curvy.
If coming from the west, take the SR46 / 45 exit east from I-69 and stay on SR 45. Please contact for any additional directional instructions.
This is a very scenic area, which also means curvy roads. Guests with a 35' or longer motorhome towing a vehicle may want to unhitch before pulling into the narrow drive.
Holidays may be allowed, depending upon family activities that are planned. More days may be an option as well.
