PLEASE NOTE: The Front Porch is currently under renovation. Our shop and refillery are not yet open, and nothing is currently for sale. RV guests are still welcome while we bring our vision to life! Welcome to The Front Porch! We hope your stay feels less like pulling into a parking space and more like being welcomed by a neighbor. We're creating a place of hospitality, sharing and community, with a future self-serve refillery, locally sourced goods, fresh eggs, seasonal gifts and everyday necessities. We're located in beautiful northern Kentucky, just minutes from the Ark Encounter and a short drive from the Creation Museum. A little about country life here: A friendly but protective Chocolate Lab and Rottweiler live on the property. We keep them secured or inside and they are always inside overnight. Please don't approach or interact with them. If large dogs make you uncomfortable, just tell us—we're happy to keep them inside and out of sight during your stay. Our farm cats free-roam on mouse patrol, so please keep visiting pets from chasing them. You may also see our neighbor's cows across the road! We're right off the road in a 35 mph zone. This is deer country, so stay especially alert at dusk, overnight and early morning. If you're behind a tractor with a parade of cars, he's probably just on his way to feed the cows! We're on a school route, so expect a bus around 7 a.m. on school mornings, and you may hear the trash truck Saturday mornings. Good to know: The closest gas station is in downtown Owenton. The lights may be off after hours, but the pumps work 24/7. Dollar General, about 5 minutes away, carries fresh produce, meat, dairy and groceries. Walmart.com delivers here, and Instacart delivers from Florence-area stores including Costco and Kroger. Don't count on DoorDash—it may accept your order only to cancel it later! For good local pizza, try Hometown Pizza in Owenton, but you'll need to pick it up. One Kentucky weather tip: Keep an eye on your weather app. A beautiful sky can turn into a major storm surprisingly fast. We're not in a flood zone, but heavy rain can put water over portions of area roads. Whether you're here to explore, watch the cows, or simply get a good night's rest, we hope you leave feeling refreshed and cared for. Thank you for staying with us. Welcome to The Front Porch!
