About
As you chart a course for adventure and roll across the roads less traveled, let your RV find respite in the tranquil embrace of a historic prairie town just a stones throw from the Canada-U.S. border. Bask in the warmth of serene Manitoba summers at a community park that caters to the peaceful RV camping enthusiast, where spaciousness and convenience pave the way to a restful stopover. Situated a mere 60 miles from the vibrant hub of Winnipeg, with its bustling cultural events and historical wonders, your RV camping experience combines easy access to urban delights with the charm of bygone days. The community park, nestled along the freshly paved Hwy 59 corridor, makes for a seamless detour for travelers heading north or awaiting border offices to swing open their doors for cross-border excursions. RV travelers will appreciate the generous open space, well-suited for larger vehicles, providing a comfortable slice of prairie to unwind. The park, set against a backdrop of a historic settlement, is a gateway to exploring the legacies of Ukrainian and Polish pioneers through the architectural tapestry of early unique homes, enduring churches, and landmark buildings like the old train station. Children can frolic on the play structure while adults steal a game or two on the baseball diamonds, and with washroom facilities to freshen up, every practical need is attended to. Cultural immersion is just a stroll away, as the towncenter beckons with a map-guided tour of historic sites, an inviting local hotel offering weekend treats, and a treasure-trove thrift store promising all manner of eclectic finds. Witness the harmonious blend of community and wildlife where wild turkeys and deer are commonplace companions. For RV campers with a penchant for nature, the nearby Tall Grass Prairie Preserve whispers an invitation to roam its trails and perhaps glimpse the rare beauty of the Western Prairie White Fringed Orchid in the soft blush of early summer. Choose this pastoral sanctuary for your next RV camping retreat and soak in the simple pleasures of summer, where red benches dot the landscape, inviting you to rest, relax, and relish the quietude of a community preserving a slice of prairie heritage. Experience the intersection of quiet country living and convenient access, an RV haven that whispers a promise of a restful journey and a touch of historical wonder.

Items to Purchase
The Tolstoi Community Park does not offer any items for purchase at this time. The community of Tolstoi has a convenience store which sells groceries, alcohol, cigarettes, lottery, etc. The historic Elsie's Hotel is a popular destination for people to gather for beverages and food. The business also has a beer vendor. The Tolstoi Heritage Centre (the former Polish Catholic church) is open during July and August on Sundays for visitors. There is no admission but donations are always welcome. The two historic Ukrainian churches are open for tours by appointment (let us know when booking). Tolstoi is home to a number of community organizations which host events (concerts and live music, game nights, pancake breakfasts, perogy dinners, spaghetti dinner, church services, etc.) throughout the summer. Check the Tolstoi Homecoming Facebook page to learn what is happening in the community.
