About
This scenic 45-acre alpaca ranch sits on a bluff overlooking Muddy Creek and offers stunning sunsets alongside wooded areas, hiking trails, and a picnic pavilion with firepit. Guests enjoy peaceful overnight parking with level spaces and beautiful valley views, whether overlooking the alpaca fields or nestled among the trees. The property provides an ideal retreat for those seeking a quiet, picturesque getaway in central Missouri. Visitors are invited to hand-feed and pet the gentle Suri alpacas—animals known for their soft, silky fiber—and learn about their care and personality during an informative farm tour. The property also features two friendly livestock guardian dogs and welcomes guest dogs on leash. For those interested in the fiber arts, guests can observe the shearing process and learn how the alpacas' wool is converted into yarn, thread, and finished textiles. The on-site farm store, stocked in the home's lower level, offers an impressive selection of alpaca-themed merchandise including handcrafted items, blankets, scarves, socks, slippers, yarn, and roving made from the ranch's own alpacas. The store also carries quality novelty gifts and locally-made ice cream. Guests appreciate the variety and quality of products available for purchase. Located just 15 minutes south of I-70, the property provides convenient access to nearby attractions: the town of Sedalia (20 minutes away) features a beautiful historic downtown with boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants, plus seasonal events including the Missouri State Fair and Ragtime Festival; the Katy Trail, a popular cycling and running path, is five minutes away; Cole Camp (45 minutes south) offers antique shops, specialty stores, and wineries; and the historic village of Arrow Rock (40 minutes north) is home to the Lyceum Theater, which produces Broadway-caliber shows. Fishing is also available on Muddy Creek with a valid Missouri license.
