Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co. is a locally owned restaurant and brewery in North Conway, NH, set in a renovated 1840s farmhouse with views of the Moat Mountains. Since opening in 2000, we’ve been serving handcrafted smokehouse fare, daily specials, and award-winning beers brewed on-site using high-quality ingredients and pure local water. Today, 26 years later, Moat remains independently owned and operated by Founder & President Stephen Johnson. A pioneer in craft packaging, Moat was among the first small U.S. breweries to embrace 24 oz “Big Cans,” starting with Iron Mike Pale Ale (2011) and Bone Shaker Brown (2012). In 2014, we expanded into a renovated late-1700s barn in Intervale, building a 9,000 sq. ft. Brewery Barn & Cannery with a 20-barrel system and canning line (not open to the public). Enjoy year-round dining, a full bar, beer flights, growler fills, merchandise, and cans to go. Today, we brew over 20 beers, distributed across New England.
