Welcome to The "Original" Ranch, a special SKP Co-op Park nestled on the northern edge of the Chihuahuan Desert in southeastern New Mexico between Artesia and Carlsbad. Established in 1983 by Escapees founders Joe and Kay Peterson, our Co-op embodies the core values of community, sharing, and service that define the Escapees experience. Known as "the friendliest park in the Escapees system," we celebrate each new arrival with our Welcome Bell, drawing members to greet you with warm hugs and genuine smiles. Our park is entirely volunteer-run, creating a true community where members share their knowledge, skills, and talents. With 117 FHU sites and a boondocking area available for short-term stays, you'll find a welcoming home base while exploring the wonders of New Mexico. The "Original" Ranch offers an ideal location for adventure, situated near Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell's UFO attractions, Brantley Lake for fishing, and Sitting Bull Falls. Whether you're seeking spectacular desert sunrises, excellent birding opportunities, or simply a friendly community to connect with fellow RVers, The "Original" Ranch provides the perfect blend of southwestern hospitality and natural beauty.
