About
We have a 1 acre flat lot with a circa 1853 farmhouse. The site is in full sun. The camping spot is next to a creek and the park has a walking trail and playground. Our lot is NOT private, it’s in an active neighborhood with people walking, hanging out and driving on 3 sides of the property. In the evening it is pleasant and mostly quiet. At night there is some truck noise from the highway on the other side of the park. Most annoying are the tractor trailer air brakes (which they are not suppose to be using close to residential area in a 45 mph zone). Suggested Local Attractions: You can walk thru the park to a great local diner. It is called the 'Hometown Diner". Also nearby 'Premise Maid Candy and Ice Cream', the name kind of says it all. There is almost always a line, outside seating is available and prices are reasonable. We have brewery's and winery's within 3 miles. In the area is Dorney Park with wonderful roller coasters, rides and a water park. Just 1 mile down the road is a world class Velodrome Bicycle racing stadium (Friday night races!), Macungie hosts amazing auto shows (Das Awkt Fescht is the biggest), Bethlehem Musikfest, Kutztown Folk Festival are a few others. I like to take guests on the Lehigh County Covered bridge tour (available on the internet). The covered bridges are all within 30 minute drive. The bridges are size, weight limited and meanders thru the countryside and takes a few hours. Major retail shopping and laundry is in Trexlertown.

HOST
Hi! We are campers and also host two sites here on BW/HH (almost 200 stays and counting). My wife is a member of two camping groups and often travels solo. We also use HipCamp (private property camping). We aren't into the campground experience. Activities like kayak camping, backpacking and Scouting, as kids and again as parents, taught us to travel light (and drilled the principles of Leave No Trace and leave-a-site-better-than-you-found-it). Our rig is a truck camper and it is tight quarters but lets us get out there...off-road and off-grid. We can’t wait to see what happens next and hope to see you out there!

$5 for electricity 110v 15 amp circuit (If you blow my GFI its a $50 charge for parts and labor). Quiet time after 9pm (Please, no guests or entertaining after 9pm) Garbage can be left in my trash can No shows will be reported. Cell phone number must be provided prior to my acceptance of your reservation. Why? The creek can flood (and can flash flood). At the worst, we have had 2.5 feet of water in the parking area. It happens when the ground conditions are extremely dry, frozen or super saturated and it there is a great deal of rain in a short period of time. These conditions lead to rain draining into the creek rather than being absorbed by the ground. The creek rises above its banks flooding surrounding areas. I mention this out of an abundance of caution. It is important that I have your cell phone number because of this. National Weather Service broadcast flood alerts/warnings a day or two in advance and updates them.
