Welcome to Busy Ewe Farm & Fibers, a peaceful 10-acre working sheep farm nestled in the beautiful Black Hills of Custer, South Dakota. We specialize in registered American Teeswater sheep known for their lustrous, long-staple fleeces. Our farm is home to a delightful flock that produces some of the finest fiber in the region. Visitors are welcome to meet the sheep, learn about our breeding program, and enjoy the tranquil rural setting with stunning views of the surrounding hills. The Fiber Nook: Our on-farm shop, the Fiber Nook, is a fiber lover’s dream. Browse and purchase raw Teeswater fleeces, hand-dyed yarns, roving, and luxurious finished fibers. Whether you’re a spinner, knitter, weaver, or felter, you’ll find unique, high-quality materials grown and created right here on the farm. Farm-Fresh Lamb We also offer pasture-raised lamb meat for sale — perfect for those looking to stock up on ethically raised, flavorful local protein. Available by the cut or in bundles during your stay (pre-order recommended). Important Note on Pets: Please keep your pets on a leash at all times. Pets are not permitted to run free on the property. We have working livestock and livestock guardian dogs that roam the pastures, and this rule helps keep everyone safe and stress-free. Guided Farm Tours: To ensure the safety of our animals and prevent issues such as open gates, all pasture visits are conducted as guided tours only. We do not allow unaccompanied roaming on the property. Your host will be happy to schedule a tour during your stay so you can safely visit with the friendly sheep and guardian dogs while learning about daily farm life. We’re conveniently located near Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, and many other Black Hills attractions — making us an ideal overnight stop or multi-day basecamp.
