About
James' Place is edged by woods on one side, views of Puget Sound and the Cascade mountains on another, and only two miles from downtown Oak Harbor. Enjoy the sunrise, a resident eagle pair, owls, hummingbirds and loads of blackberries when in season. Our house is about 50 feet away from the spot, but we're rather quiet and don't leave any bright lights on at night. We're typically working in the garden, bicycle riding or walking with the dog. It's a quiet spot for the most part. Note that when the Navy jets are practicing, we can hear them (they practice on sporadic weekdays, they don't generally practice on weekends). There is a 15A outlet approximately 25' from the parking pad for electricity hookup. Suggested Local Attractions:We'd be happy to share information on bicycling routes, nearby beach walks, local farm stands and restaurant recommendations. There are 10 State Parks within a few miles, the best known being Deception Pass State Park.

HOST
We love traveling with James, our little RV, our tandem bicycle that fits inside and a large sweet dog Details: We are Renee & Andy, a sort-of retired couple, transplanted from the East Coast, now living in and exploring the Pacific Northwest. It has been fun to discover so many fun little pockets in our new locale, and we hope to continue. All the small towns and the history of the area interest us. Home Town: Oak Harbor, WA Favorite Boondocking Locations: We are busy figuring that out. Skills or Expertise to Share: Renee is a certified Yoga teacher specializing in Yoga for Movement Disorders Andy is an electrical & computer engineer - and might even be able to fix things

Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Jame's Place is a paved parking spot at the end of a long narrow driveway. The entry turn is a bit tight, but will be fine for an RV or trailer no more than 30' (under 28' will be more comfortable for the turn into the driveway). Pull in forward to park. To leave requires a three-point turn back-out, The back-out area is about 20' wide, so there is lots of room, but you must be comfortable in reverse. In our 25' RV, we just pull into the parking pad, then back out and turn around - very simple. The parking pad has an approximately 3 degree side angle - OK for some people. We have some rubber mats to drive on if you would like to be level. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is a parking spot right next to the RV parking pad.

There are nearby dump sites at Deception Pass State Park (approx 9 miles to the North) or South Whidbey State Park (approx 15 miles to the South). Both charge a fee.
