An RV Road Trip from Yellowstone to Seattle

Planning an RV road trip is a ton of fun. It allows travelers to choose all the destinations they want to see and in what order makes the most sense. It is even more fun when the beginning and ending destinations are truly special. Throw in a variety of national parks stops, awesome cities, and Harvest Hosts locations, and you will have an amazing itinerary that will make for a fantastic trip. This particular road trip plan begins in Jackson, Wyoming, and crosses through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, before entering Montana. It then passes through the cities of Missoula, Bigfork, Spokane, and Quincy, with the option to stop at Glacier National Park as well. Finally, this road trip ends in the lovely city of Seattle to round out the trip. 1. Jackson Hole Still Works

Jackson, Wyoming is a fantastic little tourist town, situated perfectly below the Teton range. With close access to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, it is the gateway to beautiful Wyoming adventures. The town itself is full of excellent restaurants, fun attractions, and awesome shopping opportunities, making this the perfect starting point for your road trip. Jackson Hole Still Works is an awesome Harvest Hosts location in the town of Jackson. Here, they create craft spirits and cocktails made for their freshly distilled vodka, gin, and whiskey. Visitors can enjoy tastings and tours, right in the heart of Jackson. There are two pet-friendly spaces for RVs less than thirty-five feet in length. Be sure you call ahead to reserve, as this popular location tends to fill up quickly. 2. Grand Teton National Park

After leaving Jackson, you can make your way to beautiful Grand Teton National Park. There are several campgrounds here to choose from, with some being reservable and others operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Several campgrounds have hookups, while the rest are dry camping.In the park itself, there are so many things to do and experience. From booking, to swimming, scenic driving, boating, and wildlife viewing, you could easily spend several days here seeing and experiencing the beauty of the Tetons. When you are ready to move on, Yellowstone National Park is located just about an hour from the northern boundary of Grand Teton National Park.

3. Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park is up next, and many consider this to be one of the most awe-inspiring of the national parks. This amazing place sits atop an active volcano, creating a plethora of seismic activity and geothermal features. These features include steaming geysers, bubbling pools, colorful springs, hissing fumaroles, and so much more. These can all be seen along some short, easy hikes above the boardwalks that pass by each feature. In addition to geothermal features, visitors can visit the beautiful Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Each of these are beautiful and unique and offer many opportunities for hiking and sightseeing. If you plan to camp in the park, there are twelve fantastic options to choose from, with locations all over the different areas of the park. Five campgrounds are reservable, and the remaining campgrounds are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to arrive early in the day to snag a campsite. Once your adventures in Yellowstone are complete, you can head north and exit the park through the Gardiner, Montana entrance.

4. Bozeman, MT

After leaving Yellowstone, you can continue on through Montana to the town of Bozeman. This small city functions as the gateway to Yellowstone and has a thriving food and art scene. To see and understand peak Montana culture, Bozeman is the perfect city to visit. Here, outdoors culture and Western culture combine in a picturesque landscape that few visitors find themselves wanting to leave. After exploring the city of Bozeman, Harvest Hosts members can stay the night on a beautiful alpaca farm. Sentinel Ranch Alpacas is open year-round and can be found just north of Bozeman. Here, the visitors can see and experience the ranch and AlpacaLand Store, as well as a variety of events throughout the year. These include tours, artistic classes, farm-to-table dinners, seminars for breeders, and more. This location has four pet-friendly spaces available for RVs under forty feet in length.

5. Missoula, MT: Ten Spoon Vineyard and Winery

This small city has a vibey, artsy feel to it, with plenty of awesome local restaurants and events to enjoy. The beautiful Clark River runs straight through the city’s downtown area, and locals and visitors alike can be found floating the rivers on any given day of the summer season. Harvest Hosts members have the opportunity to stay at an incredible location right in the midst of the city. Ten Spoon Vineyard and Winery is an eight-acre vineyard that can be found just three miles from Missoula’s Rattlesnake Valley. They are available to host each week from Thursday through Sunday, and they sell wine by the bottle or the glass in a picturesque, classic Montana setting. They also have two pet-friendly spaces available for RVs of any size, and guests can stay additional nights (more than one) for a charge.

6. Bigfork, MT: Bowman Cherry Orchard

This upscale resort-like village is located along a bay of the gorgeous Flathead Lake. Filled with art galleries, restaurants, theaters, and outdoor activity possibilities, there is plenty to see and enjoy here.Just south of the city, Harvest Hosts members can stay the night at Bowman Cherry Orchard. Located near the shores of Flathead Lake, this orchard has been run by the same family for over 100 years. They specialize in sweet cherries and cherry products, such as jams, juice, wines, soap, and other delicious items. After spending the evening in this peaceful setting, you can move on towards Glacier National Park.

7. Glacier National Park Detour

Glacier National Park is stunning. This enormous park has so many different park sections and features, all located in the stunning northern Rocky Mountains. From lush, fertile valleys to glacially-fed lakes, rivers, waterfalls, peaks, and so much more, there is so much to see here, leading to so many potential activities to enjoy. Be sure to drive Going-to-the-Sun Road and hike a trail or two for the full experience.For RV camping, there are thirteen campgrounds to choose from. Two accept reservations, and the rest operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional information, such as campground fullness and regulations, can be found on the park’s website.

8. Spokane metro: Walter’s Fruit Farm in Mead, WA

This outdoorsy city is the second most populous area in Washington state. Popular activities here include rafting, boating, hiking, camping, and skiing in the winter. For camping, travelers can stay at Walter’s Fruit Farm, a gorgeous Harvest Hosts location just north of Spokane in the town of Mead. Here, visitors can pick and purchase fruit seasonally, which includes strawberries, cherries, peaches, apricots, nectarines, apples, and pumpkins. At the farm store, you can also find a variety of homemade jams, syrups, butters, and pies. They offer two pet-friendly spaces for RVs of any size.

9. Quincy, WA: Trinity Gardens Lavender Farm

Here, another beautiful Harvest Hosts location, Trinity Gardens Lavender Farm, will welcome you with a peaceful night’s sleep just a half-mile off the interstate. This lovely, five-acre farm offers u-pick lavender and a variety of lavender products, including soothing sprays, balms, teas, lotions, and more, as well as apples and wines from nearby local vineyards. The views and general aura are so pleasant, and many guests love this little stopover between Seattle and Spokane. They offer five pet-friendly spaces for RVs under forty-five feet in length.

10. Seattle metro: Fall City Farms

This waterfront city is packed with tons of fun activities, and there is so much to do. One could easily spend a full day or even multiple days sightseeing across the metro area. Things to do include visiting the Space Needle, riding the ferries, viewing the skyline, visiting the waterfront parks, grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many excellent restaurants, visiting Pike’s Place Market and the Gum Wall, and so much more. Be sure to come up with an itinerary before you leave for the day, as this will help you to do and see more.While there are several campgrounds in and around the immediate city area, Harvest Hosts members can also stay the night at Fall City Farms, just about thirty miles east of the city. This beautiful location is set along the Snoqualmie River at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, making for a lovely backdrop to an overall fun farm experience. In the summer, the farm offers a variety of organic produce for purchase, and in the fall and winter, they offer pumpkins and u-cut Christmas trees, respectively. They offer one pet-friendly space for an RV of any size, so be sure to make a reservation well in advance.
