About
Surrounded by snowcapped mountains and encircled by glacier-fed rivers, three generations of our family raise the world’s most nutritious hulless barley to bring your family the freshest, most wholesome food possible.
We settled in Delta Junction, Alaska in 1983. We cut firewood our first winter and eventually bought a 1,700-acre farm, on which we raised five children.
In 2011, we founded the Alaska Flour Company, the only commercial flour mill in Alaska. Our goals are to increase Alaska’s food security, create new markets for fellow farmers, and offer our children the opportunity to continue our operation into the future. In 2023, we started a bakery, so now we raise the grain, mill it and bake it right on our farm.
We love to welcome visitors to our farm to see what we do and learn where their food comes from. We use regenerative agricultural practices to improve our soil. We conduct on-farm research on new crops and technologies. We share our farm with visitors who share our love for beauty and solitude.
Surrounded by snowcapped mountains and encircled by glacier-fed rivers, three generations of our family now raise the world’s cleanest ancient grain for your family. If you like to shop, you may choose from over 60 products made using that same grain. Homegrown, family-owned, healthy, delicious food – that’s what you’ll find at Alaska Flour Company.
Visitors to our farm will enjoy a self-guided tour of the farm. We have a 2.5-mile walking path from where you may see moose, fox, birds, coyotes, and in the fall sometimes wild bison. The farm is beautiful with stunning views of crops growing against a backdrop of the snow-capped Alaska Range. You will love the solitude as you relax under the midnight sun and wake to the sound of songbirds the next morning.
