About
Unlock the gateway to a bygone era of pioneer spirit while you relax in the comforts of your RV at a unique destination that marries charm and history in the heart of the Midwest. Your RV camping adventure takes you on a journey of discovery through 12 meticulously restored historical buildings, each an echo of Iowa's rich prairie heritage. Wander at your own pace or linger thoughtfully as you absorb the educational displays that breathe life into the stories of the early settlers. Immerse yourself in the intriguing world of the Amish and Mennonite communities at the Mennonite Museum, a highlight for those seeking to understand the roots and branches of these storied cultures. Quilt enthusiasts will delight in the detailed craftsmanship on display in both the Amish and English Quilt Galleries, while the local Gem and Mineral Collection at the main visitor center shines with treasures of the earth, offering a glint of the area's geological marvels. We recommend arriving before dusk to fully experience the array of sights and sounds before the museum closes at 5:00 PM. For those whose travel schedule might stretch beyond these hours, we're more than happy to discuss alternative arrangements to ensure you don't miss out on the enriching experiences or the opportunity to peruse the souvenir potential in our Gift Shop. Within a quaint community boasting a Tapestry of local history and culture, your visit is an invitation to indulge in the bounty of small-town hospitality. Explore handcrafted items that speak of meticulous artisanship, and tempt your palate with sumptuous local foods that are as rich and inviting as the stories they accompany. When you're ready to unwind, the serenity of a public park awaits merely a half-block away, offering a refreshing dip in the swimming pool during those balmy summer days. Choose RV camping at this historical haven where education, relaxation, and discovery meld into one memorable experience.
