It's a ton of work (& always ongoing), but we love it! The first balsam saplings were planted in 2021. Did you know it takes 8 years for a sapling to mature for harvest? Our farm is undergoing a natural regenerative process - no chemicals or commercial fertilizers, thus leaving nature to revitalize our rocky clay soil as we replace with organic homemade compost. This healthy transformation will be accomplished with compost made on the farm in addition to vermicomposting - the process of using cute little worms to eat our food & garden scraps; red wiggler composting worms in addition to good ol' earthworms. If you'd like a complimentary tour of the worm shed, just let us know:) In the meantime, our farm does not generate income outside our RV guests, so thank you in advance for your support. *Please note that our farmstand may not be available during your stay but a donation kettle is available at the farm - or our "tree adoption" certificates are always available thru the link (yes, you may purchase multiple certificates for multiple nights or use the donation kettle) & benefit not only our little farm but helps with our expansion of our vermicomposting project "reclaiming" our fields using regenerative methods. Please note we value your privacy so we tend to let you enjoy the peacefulness, but we are always happy to meet fellow travelers & do hope we get to say HELLO :) A family-owned 50-acre Christmas tree farm in Orrington, Maine. We are a young working tree farm, which means tractors & farm hands 7 days per week, and plant new saplings each spring. Currently, the farm consists of sturdy gravel roads and ample space for parking alongside the fields on the gravel road. Please note that this tree farm does not have street lights or other lighting so try to arrive prior to dark or if unable to, simply find a level spot alongside the tree farm driveway for the night and turn around in the morning.
