We are retired social workers in Bay City, MI with a private home on a 1+ acre of land. We have a long history of diehard family tent camping, mostly in Michigan State Parks and Forests. Our kids are all grown up now and we are too old and achy to sleep on the ground. So, we have graduated to an awesome little 1988 Combi-Camp and a portapotty and we are ready to expand our exploring. We would love to host fellow wanderers as well as be guests. Our home is located just southwest of Bay City in the heart of the Great Lakes region of Michigan, less than 3 miles from the I-75 corridor just south of US 10. We have an empty lot next to our home with solid high ground, some mature trees for shade and rural, agricultural surroundings. Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay are nearby and provide lots of water access and activities (Great Ships, festivals and outdoor concerts in the summer). We are surrounded by lovely lake, river and marsh landscapes for hiking, railtrailing, bird-watching, fishing and duck hunting. Minutes from Saginaw and Bay City; 1/2 hour drive to Frankenmuth or Midland. Check out the photos to see the spot. There is plenty of room to stretch, relax, have a campfire and we will share our fresh veggies from our raised gardens if the time is right. We can offer water and electricity.
