About
Located in S. E. lower Michigan in the country on 5 acres with lots of trees, but close to three cities with services, including medical, veterinary, shopping, and dining. Our guest site offers reasonable privacy and shade for much of the day. The neighborhood is generally quiet, especially at night. The last 3/4 mile to our house is a private, dead-end gravel/dirt road that usually has lots of potholes. 10 MPH is a good maximum speed. The shoulders are mostly clear, and overhanging tree branches are trimmed up at least 15 feet. The guest site is part of a pull through gravel driveway with an 11' x 40' flat/level parking area that will easily accommodate a 45 foot RV with a totter or toad. The guest site has "50/30 Amp" RV electrical hookup with breakers. Fresh water is available, but not at the guest site, so if you need to fill your water tank, you need to let us know before arriving. We do not have a way for guests to dump waste water. The guest site has tall trees along the south edge which provide nice shade but will probably interfere with satellite TV reception. Wi-Fi is available on our rear deck, and might work in your rig, but that is not guaranteed. WE DO NOT ACCEPT, DONATIONS of any kind. If you stay here, you stay as our guest. Suggested Local Attractions: There is a lot to do in southeast and south-central Michigan depending on your interests. It would be best to research this before arriving. Feel free to message us if you have specific questions.

HOST
We are retired extended-time RVers with a home base in the country, but not far from civilization. We have been RVing since 2005 and were tent campers before that. We have recently started going on an occasional cruise. Details: A retired educational consultant with an engineering background, and a retired C.P.A. We have tended to be snowbirds, but not exclusively. Besides Boondockers Welcome, we are members of: Havest Hosts, FMCA, the Escapees RV Club, the Prevost Owners Group, Prevost Community, and Converted Coach Owners. We are members of various FMCA chapters and SKP Chapters/BoFs. We still have our converted motorcoach, but most of our RVing is now done in our travel trailer. Home Town: We were both born and raised in the St. Louis, Missouri area but have lived and worked in S. E. Michigan all of our adult lives. After we retired in 2013, we relocated from a suburb of Detroit to our 5 acres in the country, where we are conviently located to the communities of Brighton, Hartland, and Howell. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We have enjoyed almost every place we have been, but we rarely boondock. Skills or Expertise to Share: One of us is a very good vegan cook (whole-food, plant-based), who still works part time as an outside accountant for her last employer. The other one has an electrical engineering background, but he is not a licensed electrician. We are also involved in photography and are both licensed Amateur Radio Operators (ham radio). We have done a lot of work on our converted coach since 2010, and written over 50 articles for Bus Conversion Magazine. We maintain a personal Wordpress website, which includes a blog about our travels, projects, and life in general. It is available at HTTPS://www.omnibus-mi.us/

Parking & Arrival
Road and Site Access Conditions: We are 4 to 12 miles from four major highway exits. All routes are paved except the last 3/4 mile which is a private dead-end gravel/dirt road. There are two 90 degree turns on our street, but they are broad sweeps that can handle any rig. Our guest site is a pull through that will accommodate any size/type of rig/combination. Large motorhomes towing a car/trailer might want to unhook the toad in the road before entering the site. Exit our neighborhood the same way you came in. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: On site, in front or behind rig or elsewhere on property if needed.

House Rules
We prefer that people not smoke near us or our house, and that cigarette butts do not end up on the ground. It's a quiet neighborhood after dark. Generators are fine but not needed. No outside entertainment or other noises that can be heard more than 40' away from the guest site, please. Pets are welcome. Dogs are may be off-leash IF they are trained and obedient. Please pick up after your dogs. The property is not fenced and we have a LOT of wildlife that visits which we do not want harassed or your pet to have a bad encounter. We do NOT want portable fencing put up. Pets may not be left outside if/when you are away from the site. We have coyotes, foxes, and large raptors in the area, and barking dogs would be a problem. Adult beverages in moderation, please. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about any of our house rules or other aspects of our site or your stay.
