Enjoy camping in the wide open countryside between Anaconda and Deer Lodge with the Flint Mountain Range in the background. The Short Wire Ranch is home to the Painted KC Yaks during fall and winter grazing and the herd is a few miles away during calving and summer grazing. Ranch tours are available upon request. State inspected, professionally processed, all grass fed yak meat is available for sale throughout most of the year. Wildlife sightings are common, depending on the season. Rising Sun Quilt Studio is located here. It is primarily a service offering longarm quilting to customers to professionally finish their pieced quilt tops.
