About
This 10-acre fiber farm in the Western Catskill Mountains offers a uniquely memorable experience for travelers seeking something beyond a standard camping stop. Nestled along the East Branch of the Delaware River, the property provides level grass camping spaces with fire pits and chairs, situated amid stunning mountain scenery and surrounded by lush forest. Guests wake to the peaceful sight of alpacas and a llama grazing near the campsite, and the location puts visitors within easy reach of exceptional outdoor recreation—world-class trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking trails, cycling, and golfing all nearby, plus five historic covered bridges within 45 minutes.
The heart of the experience centers on interactive time with the resident herd of four alpacas and one llama. Guests consistently praise the opportunity to feed and pet these calm, curious animals up close, with the host providing treats and sharing detailed knowledge about alpaca care and the farm's history. The property includes pleasant walking paths suitable for guests with dogs, and a nearby seasonal farm stand offers locally grown produce and flowers. Additional conveniences include direct river access for water activities like paddleboarding and a selection of handcrafted alpaca products available for purchase—from yarn and fiber to cozy socks, blankets, hats, and felted crafts.
The area offers excellent cultural attractions and dining options, with local restaurants, breweries, and distilleries situated 10 to 35+ minutes away depending on the destination. Those interested in a deeper dive into fiber arts can book hands-on felting workshops to create take-home souvenirs. The pull-through layout makes arrival and departure straightforward, and WiFi service is available. All standard RV amenities are welcome, including slide-outs, BBQs, campfires, and generators, and friendly leashed dogs are permitted on designated mowed paths away from the alpacas.
