Welcome to Our Farmstead Nestled in the heart of eastern North Carolina, our small family farm—founded by Josh and Kim—is dedicated to producing wholesome food and embracing a natural lifestyle. We raise non-GMO, pasture-raised pork, chicken, and eggs without antibiotics, hormones, or feed additives. Our animals live outdoors, enjoying sunshine and fresh air, allowing them to thrive naturally and humanely. By using regenerative farming practices like rotational grazing, we protect soil health and nurture the land for future generations. Our journey began in 2015, when I left my job as a public school teacher to pursue a lifestyle aligned with our family values. Searching for natural ways to support our daughter’s severe allergies led us to elderberry syrup—an incredible discovery that transformed our health. Inspired by its impact, we created Happy Heart Elderberry to share its benefits with others. That passion for wellness and education also inspired Acorn Acres Nature School, where local homeschoolers learn on the farm every Tuesday and Thursday. Children explore nature, help with farm chores, and play in our forest playground—all while learning in God’s creation. Today, our on-site farm shop offers everything we produce.
