About
WHIDBEY ISLAND GET-AWAY offers a cozy, rustic and wooded setting within a few minutes drive from the Clinton/Mukilteo ferry. We are close to island beaches, recreational, and historic seaside villages and their dining and shopping opportunities. Friendly and cheerful travelers, POC, BLM, and LGBTQ peeps are welcome here. Bigots, cultists and crabby peeps will be happier elsewhere. Under our canopy of tall cedars you may hear a far off rooster crow, but mostly all you will hear are the sounds of croaking frogs or hooty owls. Nearby are picturesque public beaches with views of Mt Raineer and snowcapped Cascade and Olympic Mountains. Within minutes are the WA State historic seaside villages of Clinton, Langley, Freeland and Coupeville that offer wonderful dining, shopping, art gallery, and entertainment opportunities. Recreational opportunities such as cycling, hiking, kayaking, fishing, crabbing and boating abound. And one more thing: WHIDBEY ISLANDERS are typically friendly and helpful. ;-) We are located in Puget Sound, about one hour north of Seattle. Travel further north by rural highways and ferry and you will be in the legendary San Juan Islands or nearby Olympic Peninsula. Contact mobile, text only: 425.367.1953 Suggested Local Attractions:State parks such as Ft Casey, Ft Ebey and Deception Pass are all located on Whidbey Island. Charming and historic seaside villages of Clinton, Langley, Freeland, Greenbank and Coupeville are fun to explore. Hop on the Coupeville/Pt Townsend Ferry for a visit to pedestrian friendly Pt Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula. Or drive north to Anacortes for a stunning ferry ride to the San Juan Islands and legendary Friday Harbor.

Longtime RV Campers Simon & I are camper/road trippers with a lifetime of experiences. We enjoy road-tripping with our small terriers in a 24ft 2004 BORN FREE RV. Our 2 acre WHIDBEY ISLAND, WA, property enjoys a rustic, wooded, cozy and peaceful setting, a few minutes drive from the Mukilteo/Clinton Ferry (Hwy 525) and island beaches and seaside villages. As BDW hosts WE WELCOME DIVERSITY. POC, BLM, LGBTQ, INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS and their friendly pets are warmly welcomed. If you are Racist, Radical or Cultists you will not enjoy our hospitality. Weapons and smoking are not permitted on our property. Simon was Made in England. I'm originally from NY. We have enjoyed travels in Scandanavia, Europe, Mexico and South America. For 7 years we were AIRBNB hosts and enjoy meeting people and introducing newcomers to Whidbey Island. We have hosted BDW RV guests for several years. Home Town: Our home is in Clinton, WA, gateway to WHIDBEY ISLAND, located about 45 minutes north of Seattle. Whidbey Island enjoys three beautiful State Park Campgrounds - Ft Casey, Ft Ebey, and Deception Pass - but in warm months you have to be very lucky to secure reservations. Further north of Whidbey Island are the picturesque San Juan Islands, and further still is Brittish Columbia in Canada. Favorite Boondocking Locations: We haven't done much boondocking, per se, but we LOVE camping in WA, OR, and CA, on the seashore, at lakes and in mountains. We love exploring villages. And we're avid thrift shoppers. Skills or Expertise to Share: Simon is a retired A/V engineer, and a skilled Mr Fixit. Sharen is a retired Advertising and PR executive. They are engaged in Progressive community activities, both culturally and politically.

Parking & Arrival
Access Road Conditions: Paved public roads access our property. Within our property, care must be taken. Tall trees. No pull throughs. Small RVs up to 25 ft only. TRAILERS, with few exceptions, ARE NOT A GOOD FIT. BACKING UP IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY, SO WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE TRAILERS. Well behaved dogs welcome. Aggressive dogs are not welcome. Dogs must be leashed and supervised at all times and owners must clean up after their dogs. COYOTES roam the neighborhood. Children and infants must be cleared by property owner/hosts prior to stay. All children must be supervised by adults at all times. Climbing trees or climbing yard art and sculptures is forbidden. Tow Vehicle Parking: Trailers are not recommended, unless you are highly skilled at backing up. Small trailers only. RVs up to 25-26 ft only. Our campsite is NOT located in our 6991 driveway address. Rather it is located at the deadend of Rollinghill Dr, on the right. You will see it. Likely you can park your extra vehicle there too. If not, there's room in our separate driveway. Our property is well suited for small motorhomes under 26ft. There is separate off-street parking for an extra vehicle. We sometimes can accommodate tenters. Be sure to discuss tenting with owner/hosts. Also, you MUST tell us about dogs and/or kids. And you must arrive BEFORE NIGHTFALL/before dark!
