As the weather cools and autumn sets in, the south is the perfect place to take your RV camping. While it is typically very hot and humid in Alabama over the summer, the fall boasts warm temperatures in the 70s, which is perfect for outdoors activities and camping enjoyment. 1. Island Retreat RV Park - Gulf Shores, AL
Gulf Shores, Alabama, is a beautiful and quaint little beach town located along the Alabama portion of the southern Gulf Coast. This cute vacation area sports a lovely state park, miles of white, sandy beaches, emerald waters, a pier, trails, a golf course, and a zip line that extends over the dunes. The western area of the city is home to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, where sea turtles and many species of migratory birds make their winter home. RVers wanting to visit the area should consider a stay at Island Retreat RV Park. 2. Hodges Vineyards & Tasting Room - Camp Hill, AL
After leaving the coast, you can head about four hours north to the Auburn, Alabama area. This area is home to Auburn University and has several cute downtown areas, spacious parks, shops and restaurants, and plenty of typical college town sports. Just twenty minutes from Auburn, Harvest Hosts members can stay the night at the beautiful Hodges Vineyards and Tasting Room. Here, guests can enjoy a tasting room with a variety of muscadine, fruit and grape wines, as well as a pergola/deck area, and a pond. In addition, they have a wildlife sanctuary and hiking opportunities on site, as well as a gift shop and two full hookups sites.
