Walking, Hiking, and Biking

As stated above, there are over 183 kilometers of hiking trails to explore throughout Gatineau Park. Like most parks, these trails range in difficulty from easy to strenuous, and some of the most popular include Pink Lake Loop, Wolf Trail, and Luskville Falls. Pets are allowed on some of these trails, but not all of them. Be sure to check ahead first. The Capital Parkway is a paved trail that extends throughout the National Capital Region. Visitors can walk, bike, and skate on this 12.5-kilometer (7.7-mile) trail.

Water Activities

Gatineau Park has three boat launches and permits non-motorized watercraft to paddle on and enjoy the lake. The area is perfect for enjoying a nice day on the water. Fishing is available in most lakes with a license. Didn’t bring your boat? No worries. There are rentals available. There are seven swimming beaches located within the park. These strictly operate during the summer only due to temperatures. The beach areas are equipped with bathrooms, washrooms, and picnic areas. 

RV Camping

Within Gatineau Park, conventional camping is available at the Philippe Lake Sector, Renaud Lake Sector, and the Taylor Lake Sector campgrounds. Combined, there are nearly 260 campsites available that include a fire pit and picnic tables. All campgrounds offer dry camping only with no hookups or services.
