About
Nestled in the pines of northern Michigan, Camp Virtus is the perfect place to visit the area or relax and unwind while traveling on the road. The area is a popular tourist destination offering the only natural falls in the lower peninsula, lighthouses (40 mile point lighthouse and a shipwreck are close by!), miles and miles of trails, and a great "jump off" spot for the areas must do's like Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island, Cheboygan's Boblo (Bois Blanc) Island, or the Rogers City Nautical Festival. Hoeft and Black Lake State Parks/day use areas are just a few miles away. Camp Virtus is surrounded by thousands of acres of state forest, fast and easy access to pristine Lake Huron shoreline and beaches, tranquil inland lakes and streams (great fishing), and all kinds of other cool local things to check out!

HOST
Just a fella and his RV, enjoying life and trying to see as much of this great country as I possibly can. In the process, I'm looking for a nice southern spot on a few acers to plant the RV and escape the brutal Michigan winters. If you know of a good place, please let me know! Details: I typically travel alone, and no pets. I am newly retired public safety so you can count on a quiet and respectful Boondocker with no bad habits. :) Home Town: I come from a small third world country, currently known as Detroit. Favorite Boondocking Locations: There are so many! I've really appreciated and enjoyed every visit so far... Skills or Expertise to Share: Love to cook and barbecue. I like to tinker with my RV and always willing to help someone tinker with thiers.

Parking & Arrival
I've been a Boondocker for a few years myself all over the country. Just trying to reciprocate starting this year, so I'm just starting out. I have a larger improvement project planned for this summer, but right now I can only accommodate up to two van body class B's, and/or a truck with a slide in camper. For a smaller truck-SUV/trailer rig, feel free to reach out and we can discuss. Once I cut more trees and get more gravel, I'll have more options later closer to summer.

House Rules
Animals on a leash are ok, between the campsite and the road (lots of room). No critters near the cabin (makes the mama and baby bunnies nervous). Must pick up after yourself and your fur babies (yes even in the woods). I would take them across the road to State land where they can run off leash all they want. Smoking around the site is fine, all I ask is that you collect your butts. Generators are ok, between the hours of 7 AM and 10 PM.
