Harvest Hosts is a membership program for RV camping: unlock unlimited overnight stays at 38 Nevada locations, and thousands more.
Learn MoreHosts outside the neon — including wine country in Pahrump, forty minutes west — solve the Las Vegas overnight question with more charm than a casino lot. Las Vegas can serve as a base for much more than casinos and entertainment, with Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Valley of Fire State Park, and the Spring Mountains all nearby. Summer temperatures can be dangerous for people, pets, tires, batteries, and RV systems — avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, carry more water than you expect to need, and never rely on a generator or air-conditioning system without a backup plan. Valley of Fire's red sandstone formations and petroglyphs may require reservations for campgrounds and group sites, and fire restrictions are common during dry periods, so check current park rules before arrival.
Lake Mead and the Colorado River provide boating, fishing, hiking, and waterfront recreation within easy reach of Las Vegas. Boulder City offers museums, restaurants, and access to Hoover Dam without the congestion of the Strip. Water levels, launch-ramp availability, and shoreline access can change, so confirm current conditions before towing a boat or planning around a particular marina. Farther south, Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area near Laughlin has a reservable campground designed to accommodate RVs and is accessible year-round, although summer heat can be extreme.
Reno's revitalized river district and Carson Valley ranch country sit minutes from Lake Tahoe's California border, with Virginia City's mining-era streets in the hills above. Summer here is high-desert perfect; winter means real Sierra snow.
Central and south-central Nevada combine mining history, open desert, and some of the state's most unusual roadside attractions. Tonopah offers historic hotels, museums, and exceptionally dark skies. State Route 375, known as the Extraterrestrial Highway, passes through remote country near Rachel — travelers should not attempt to approach restricted military property, cross gates, or follow unofficial roads toward Area 51. Services are extremely limited along this route, so begin with a full fuel tank and carry water, food, and emergency supplies.
"The Loneliest Road in America" earns the title across 400 miles of basin-and-range — Fallon, Austin, Eureka, Ely — ending near Great Basin National Park's ancient bristlecones and dark skies. Ranch and farm stays out here are the trip's stories. Fuel at every town; the next one isn't close.

Nevada is much more than the Las Vegas Strip. One of the most mountainous states in the country, it combines red-rock canyons, alpine lakes, sagebrush valleys, historic mining towns, ancient bristlecone pines, and some of the darkest night skies in the Lower 48. Nevada has 38 Harvest Hosts locations offering overnight stays at high-desert wineries, alpaca farms, and ranches beyond the casino glow. Member-favorite stops include Boutique Nevada Winery Retreat, High Desert Alpaca Farm Retreat, and High Desert Ranch Retreat — the state's three most-booked hosts. Members can choose from 8 farm stays, 2 wineries, and 3 breweries statewide. Distances can be deceptive here: major destinations may be separated by several hours of open highway, with limited fuel, cellular service, and repair options between communities, so plan fuel stops early, carry drinking water, and check current road conditions before entering remote parts of the state.

Fantastic time. Our hosts were so great, warm hearted and accommodating. We had a really long, crazy day. Got to the property unhooked it was getting late on in the evening. They have this wonderful tree that just totally mesmerize me while I was sitting outside recouping for my day. Nice peaceful, exactly what I needed after our crazy day.I definitely will be returning again.
