Learn MoreThe Holy City rewards a host stay outside the peninsula — live-oak avenues, plantation-era gardens, and shrimp-and-grits pilgrimages by day, quiet beer-garden evenings back at the rig. Beaufort and the Sea Islands extend the Lowcountry mood south toward Hilton Head Island and Georgia.
Myrtle Beach's 60-mile shoreline is packed with family fun, while the farms, wineries, and breweries just inland offer a peaceful place to slow down and recharge. Murrells Inlet's marshwalk seafood and Brookgreen Gardens balance the boardwalk.
The Midlands is South Carolina's heart, where the state capital of Columbia blends history, culture, and outdoor adventure. Just outside the city, Congaree National Park's old-growth floodplain includes boardwalk trails through champion trees and fireflies synchronizing in late spring — the region's quiet crown.
Greenville's celebrated main street and the Blue Ridge escarpment's waterfalls give the northwest corner real mountain credentials, connecting naturally to North Carolina's high country.

We pulled in to the spacious overflow parking lot across the road from the winery. There was a nice path leading to the winery. The woman working was very friendly. In addition to a great wine recommendation she let us know that we could sit on their porch after hours, which we took advantage of because it rained nonstop from the time we arrived until we went to bed. We enjoyed live music, the company of another HH couple and their 2 four legged babies.
