Tennessee has 212 Harvest Hosts locations offering overnight RV stays at distilleries, boutique wineries, and farm country across all three Grand Divisions. Member-favorite stops include Handcrafted Whiskey & Moonshine Distillery, Charming Boutique Winery, and Charming Tennessee Vineyard Escape — the state's three most-booked hosts. Attraction stay at West Tennessee Music Heritage Museum

It was a pleasure sharing there for the evening, the museum was great to walk through, we bought some shirts from there, it was a quiet safe location for the evening and there were 3 fast food resteraunts within walking distance, including a DQ for desert! We were able to run out generator through the evening which was really nice in the July heat. We really appreciated the hospitality and rest.

Brewery stay at Harvest Hosts Breweries & Distilleries

We really enjoyed our visit and overnight stay at Nashville Brewery. The lot was big, level, and well lit at night. The distillery is beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating spaces and the setting along a biking and walking trail is so tranquil. We enjoyed the whiskey tasting and tried several different cocktails on the menu and they were all yummy. We bought a bottle of our favorite whiskey to take home. This was a great HH and we look forward to coming back!

Host was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Suggested a couple more level sites for our 45' Tiffin. Parked behind the church facing a huge green space. Saw deer one evening while sitting under their pavilion. Resident kitty served as Welcome Committee!

I was greeted by the hostess and she was very courteous and informed me of a few different places to park. There are a few retail outlets there and a restaurant. I especially enjoyed shopping in the general store. They had all kinds of merchandise. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very quiet parking lot behind the church with a kids playground. Flat and plenty of room to maneuver. Don't forget to donate to the church.

Tennessee RV Camping Guide

East Tennessee and the Smokies

America's most-visited national park anchors a mountain east worth touring slowly — Cades Cove wildlife loops, Gatlinburg's carnival energy, and Knoxville and Chattanooga bracketing the valley with two of the South's best small cities. Vineyard stays on the Cumberland Plateau make the calm base camp.

Middle Tennessee

Nashville's neon core sits inside a countryside of walking-horse farms, small-town squares, and the whiskey corridor down to Lynchburg — winery and distillery stays put the tasting a stroll from the rig, which is the correct distance. October color on the plateau rivals the Smokies with half the traffic.

West Tennessee

Memphis closes the show: Beale Street, Graceland, barbecue theology, and the Mississippi rolling past. The flatland west hides distillery and farm stays where the pace drops to Delta time, with Arkansas across the river.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to RV camp in Tennessee?

April–May and September–October — spring wildflowers in the Smokies (the park is a botanical wonder in April) and fall color that peaks in mid-to-late October. Summer is festival-heavy and humid; winter stays mild in the west and lowlands.

What should RVers know about visiting the Smokies?

The main road through the park (US-441/Newfound Gap) handles RVs fine, but some secondary roads restrict longer vehicles, parking tags are now required for stops over a brief window, and Cades Cove's loop crawls in season — early morning is everything. Check current park vehicle and parking-tag rules before your trip. And keep every rig off the Tail of the Dragon (US-129): its 318 curves are a motorcycle pilgrimage, not an RV route.

Can I do the Tennessee whiskey trail by RV?

Beautifully — distillery hosts solve the tasting-and-driving problem by definition, and the Jack Daniel's and George Dickel country around Lynchburg makes an easy middle-Tennessee loop. Space the tastings, designate when day-tripping, and buy the bottle where it's born.

Is overnight RV parking legal in Tennessee?

Rules vary by city, with Nashville, Gatlinburg, and Memphis enforcing actively. Harvest Hosts stays keep it easy: an invited overnight on private property with the host's permission — a vineyard over a tourist-strip lot.

How does RV camping at Harvest Hosts work in Tennessee?

Harvest Hosts is an annual membership that lets RVers stay overnight at 212 Tennessee distilleries, wineries, and farms with no camping fees. Members request stays through the app, arrive in a self-contained RV, and support their hosts with a purchase — small-batch whiskey, a plateau red, or farm goods for the road.

Is Harvest Hosts worth it for Tennessee RV trips?

Yes — Smokies-corridor campgrounds run $50–90/night in season and October books solid, so the $99/year Classic membership pays for itself in about two nights. One music-and-mountains loop covers it with a bottle to spare.
